These plots discuss the jet calibration under pile-up and the correction for jet properties under pile-up. The results are compared to those obtained with proton-proton (pp) collision data in 2010.

A study of the ATLAS calorimeter Etmiss resolution with the 2010 Heavy Ion (HI) collision data has been performed. The results are compared to those obtained previously with proton-proton (pp) collision data in 2010.

Data Set

The data set consists of 1654 events, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 inverse microbarns. The events are required to have:

  • a leading jet with ET > 100 GeV
  • a second leading jet in the opposite hemisphere with Δφ > π/2 and ET > 25 GeV

Etmiss is computed from cells with a 2 sigma noise cut, calibrated with Global Cell Weighting (GCW), and calculated in the pseudorapidity range |η|<4.5. A vertex correction is applied when determining Etmiss.
