<
This slot is to build and test future release of DecFiles for MC for 2011 data - Sim05, a.k.a as MC11. In this slot you will find the build of the latest released version of Gauss in the v41 series, v41r4. It uses a build in the same nighlty slot of the head revision of DecFiles. All new decay files added since the latest release in the DecFiles v25rX series are built and a qmtest is run to verify they can be used.

Currently this slot is to test the next reference release for 2012, Gauss v42r4 build against LHCb v35r4 and Geant4 v94r2p5 with the latest DecFiles v26rX. It has Gauss v42r3 and all new packages expected to be in the next version of the v42 series.

This slot is to build and test future release of DecFiles for MC for early productions for 2012 data - Sim06. In this slot you will find the build of the latest released version of Gauss in the v42 series, v42r4. It uses a build in the same nighlty slot of the head revision of DecFiles. All new decay files added since the latest release in the DecFiles v26rX series are built and a qmtest is run to verify they can be used.

This version of Gauss has new generators and new features for the upgrade. However, it is based on the same default generators (pythia6 and evtgen versions) and Geant4 version as Gauss v41rX (Sim05). For this reason it can also be used for early productions for 2012 data, identified as Sim06.

This version of Gauss has new generators and some features for the upgrade. However, it is based on the same default generators (pythia6 and evtgen versions) and Geant4 version as Gauss v41rX (Sim05). It uses a build in the same nighlty slot of the latest revision of the v26b branch of DecFiles to allow to test the latest decay files added since the latest release in the DecFiles v26rX series.

The following data/configuration packages are explicitly added to the Gauss v42r3 nightly build to allow the pick them up in the tests:

  • Sim/Gauss v42b

This slot is to prepare the version of Gauss (v44r2) that will use the newest version of EvtGen.

To decouple from the G4 changes the test uses the released Geant4 v94r2p5 rebuilding it in the slot to pick up the correct Gaudi version. At the moment only the new version of EvtGen is included: new generators version as photos++ and interfaces will be added (this should fix some of the compilation errors).

Currently this slot is to test the tagged release for 2012, Gauss v42r2 build against LHCb v35r2 and Geant4 v94r2p5.
This version of Gauss has new generators and new features for the upgrade. However, it is based on the same default generators (pythia6 and evtgen versions) and Geant4 version as Gauss v41rX (Sim05). For this reason it can also be used for early productions for 2012 data, identified as Sim06.

Explanation of what is in the nightly slots

An explanation of what is in each slot for Gauss, Geant4 and DecFiles is given here

lhcb-branches

In this slot you will find the build of the latest Gauss version in the v41 series, i.e. Sim05 (a.k.a as MC11 for 2011 data). Currently the released version v41r4 is built with the head revision of DecFiles to test the new decay files added to prepare for the new release of DecFiles, v25r16. It also has the branch of DecFiles to prepare compatible options with the new LHCb ParticlePropertySvc and other small changes.

This slot is for the next development release for 2012, Gauss v42r2, with new generators and new features for the upgrade. However, it is based on the same default generators (pythia6 and evtgen versions) as Sim05. For this reason it can also be used for early productions for 2012 data, identified as Sim06. Currently this slot is based on the released LHCb v35r1p1 and to prepare the release of Gauss v42r2 some LHCb packages are explicitly added to the Gauss project in the nightly configuration. It has new packages for the upgrade, VLMoniSim and LbGDML, and new generators adaptors, LbAlpGen, LbHerwigpp and GenTune

This slot is for the next development release for 2012, Gauss v42r2 to check it against the newest LHCb, v35r2 where the LHCb packages needed by Gauss are in so they do not need to be added to Gauss itself. Since LHCb v35r2 is build on Gaudi v23r4, Geant4 v94r2p4 is also rebuilt in this slot to pick up the same version of Gaudi.

This slot is to prepare the version of Gauss (v43r0 or v44r0) that will use the latest version of Geant4 9.5.p01. In this slot also Geant4 HEAD, picking up 9.5.p01 is built. To decouple from the newer evtgen and generators, those are kept as in the Gauss v42 (Sim06) series. Compilation errors in rich related packages due to new g4 version.

This slot is to prepare the version of Gauss (v43r0 or v44r0) that will use the newest version of EvtGen and of all other generators libraries. To decouple from the G4 changes the test it use the released Geant4 v94r2p4 rebuilding it in the slot to pick up the correct Gaudi version. At the moment only the new version of evtgen is included: new generators version as photos++ and interfaces to be added (this should fix some of the compilation errors)

gauss-dev

This slot is to prepare the migration to the next version of HepMC and test future version of the LCG GeneratorsInterfaces packages. It requires a dedicated LCG nightly build. Currently this is not setup.

lhcb-branches2

This slot is to prepare possible branches of the Gauss v42 series. Currently there is no Gauss, Geant4 or DecFiles built here.

Running from the nighlies

Instructions on how to run from the nightlies are available from the general nightlies documentation. Just replace DaVinci with Gauss and select the slot you want to use from the list above.
