If you don't get triggers from the TELL1 (tputell01) then the PileUp might be in the wrong partition. To check:
  • in the TFC FSM tree view the 'TFC_ALLOC'
  • on the righthand panel the PUS should be connected to Partition 'Part_10'. If not call Richard Jacobsson

Howto start the TFC

At this moment the PileUp uses TFC_PART10 (static)

  • Login to a machine with PVSS installed (tpudcs01w)
  • Open the windows explorer and go to group\online\ecs\Shortcuts\TFC
  • start TFC_UI_DEN

The top level FSM panel should appear

  • click FSM tab
  • click + on TFC
  • click + on TFC (again)
  • select TFC_PART10 with the left mouse button
  • click right mouse button -> view

The Toplevel odin panel should appear

  • click the lock-button
    • if the message is "included" than
      • close the popup window
      • close the TFC_PART10 windows
      • right click in the FSM tree on node TFC_PART10 and do a start/restart
      • Warning: do not restart the top TFC node: it is used by all of LHCB
      • right click -> view
      • again click the lock button
    • if the message is "excluded" then press 'take'
  • Now the lock should be green and the 'system state' and 'subsystem-state' selection boxes are colored as well
  • Most probably the state is 'not ready' (yellow)
  • select recipe: -Cache : ODIN/R_All/PUS_PUTEST
  • push button 'set recipe'
  • do a 'configure' from the system state select box (drop down box)
  • a 'params' window pops up: click 'send'
  • the state goes via 'configuring' to ready (blue)
  • do a 'start' from the system state select box (drop down box)
  • the state should go to 'active' (blue)
  • do a 'start_trigger' from the system state select box (drop down box)
    • and take 1000 triggers (N_TRIGGERS) if N_TRIGGERS == 0 then if keeps running until you stop it
    • click 'send'
  • the state goes via 'active' to 'RUNNING' (green)
  • watch the trigger counters (calibration trigger A)
  • for N_TRIGGER = 0 the state becomes 'paused' (blue) after the specified number of triggers is reached

To stop:

  • select 'halt triggers' from the system state select box
  • free the TFC by clicking the lock-button
