The PIN -> LED -> EcalCells relations are summarized in the table below.

Each line of the table corresponds to a PIN-diode labelled with PIN-ID, box and connector index.
The readout of the PIN-diode is identified with the Crate number,the FEB-slot,the adc-channel, the readout order and the Ecal side (0=C-side, 1=A-side).

Hcal LED/PIN-Diode system

The Hcal LED/PIN-diodes distribution is different than Ecal :

  • each PIN-diode read-out a single LED (2 or 4 for Ecal)
  • each HCal PMT channel can be flashed by two different LEDs (a single one for Ecal)
  • a single LED flashes a whole Hcal module, some of them merging inner and outer channels.

The Prs/Spd monitoring system is much simpler :
  • each PMT channel is flashed with a single LED.
  • each LED flashes a group of 128 PMT channels.
  • there is no PIN-diode monitoring the LED.

As there is no PIN-diode readout channel there is no specific description for the Prs/Spd monitoring system in the LHCb condDB.

Ecal LED/PIN-Diode system

The global sketch of the Ecal LED distribution can be found here for the C-side and here for the A-side of Ecal. Note that two groups of LEDs have actually been cabled in a different manner than in the description provided by the previous links. The additional information about these two modifications can be found here and there, respectively.

The PIN -> LED -> EcalCells relations are summarized in the table below.
Each line of the table corresponds to a PIN-diode labelled with PIN-ID, box and connector index.
The readout of the PIN-diode is identified with the Crate number,the FEB-slot,the adc-channel, the readout order and the Ecal side (0=C-side, 1=A-side).

The corresponding group(s) of Ecal cells is(are) identified with the corresponding Ecal area(s) (0=outer,1=middle,2=inner), first/last-row(s) and first/last column(s).
For most of the PIN-diodes, the matching Ecal cells form a single rectangular NxM block. The group of corresponding LEDs is indicated with cLed and rLed which have to be understood as a (cLedxrLed) LED array, each LED of the group flashing a sub-block of the whole NxM block.
Most of the Ecal PIN-diodes are connected to a groups of 2x2 of 2x1 LEDs.

As usual there is exceptions to the generic description. Two groups of 4-LEDs have been cabled differently. The corresponding 2 PIN-diodes matche a non-rectangular group of cells with a 1x1 + 1x3 LED distribution as shown in the links above.

Removing both the PIN-ID and the adc-channel columns, this table is used as a condition in the LHCb condDB (path = /Conditions/Ecal/ReadoutConf/).
