A user may redefine the default shell on lxplus by going to https://account.cern.ch/account/Management/MyAccounts.aspx, navigate to "Applications and Resources.." then [Manage] Linux services (you will need to login using your CERN username and password). In general, unless you have a strong preference, stick to tcsh as this is better tested.
