Radiation Length Studies in Gauss

This tool consists in a few scripts that fire neutrino particle guns through the LHCb detector.

After each subdetector an extra thin plane is located.

While going though the detector neutrinos record the radiation and interaction length of the material they traspassed at each step.

When the neutrino reaches a plane radiation length information is saved.

Neutrinos are used in order to avoid interaction and bending in magnetic field.

How to use

To use the tool first getpack it and then you only need to run the Run_RadLenScan.py script

getpack Sim/SimChecks

SetupProject Gauss vXXrY --dev

cd Sim/SimChecks/scripts/RadLength

python Run_RadLenScan.py

This will create plots in the "plots" folder with 2D profiles of interaction and radiation length and also 2 files rad(inter)_length.txt containing a table of average radiation(interaction) length across all (eta,phi) plane.
