VELO Power Off Procedure

This procedure is intended to provide a comprehensive list of the different steps to be followed when switching off the VELO. However, for the detailed instructions please follow the given links.

  1. Start the VELO Summary Panel (instructions)
  2. Turn off HV via PVSS (instructions to be provided)
  3. Unload Hybrids and Control Boards via PVSS (instructions to be provided)
  4. Turn off LV via PVSS (instructions to be provided)
  5. Switch off the cooling (instructions)
  6. Stop PVSS projects (find the complete list of projects to be stopped here)
  7. Switch off crates of Control and Temperature Board (instructions)
  8. Switch off HV system by pressing the "Emergency Off" button
  9. Switch off LV system by turning the key of the mainframe
  10. Switch off TELL1 crates by flipping the red switch of the fan units in D3E04 top, D3E03 top, D3E03 bottom, D3E02 top and D3E02 bottom for the VELO and D3E01 top for the Pile-Up System

  5. Switch off the cooling (instructions).
  6. Stop PVSS projects (find the complete list of PVSS projects here).
  7. Switch off crates of Control and Temperature Board (instructions).
  8. Switch off HV system by pressing the "Emergency Off" button at the bottom of D3E04.
  9. Switch off LV system by turning the key of the mainframe from "local" to "off" at the bottom of D3E05.
  10. Switch off TELL1 crates by flipping the red switch of the fan units in D3E04 top, D3E03 top, D3E03 bottom, D3E02 top and D3E02 bottom for the VELO and D3E01 top for the Pile-Up System.
 
  1. If an general power cut is to be expected: Switch off all the computers not under control of the online group.
    • Cooling PCs at the cooling platform: koelboer and schotje
    • PCs in the VELO office upstairs (2885-2-003):
