AB Safety Unit
Meeting 05 02 2000:
Present: Fabrice Chapuis; Jose-Luis Duran-Lopez;Didier Chapuis; Idelette Floret; Nadine Conan; Manfred Grill; James Ridewood; Gerry Mcmonagle; Steve Hutchins
FC: Proposition for the lift maintenance in the PS Booster without stopping operation.
Radiation at level -2 is low : see message from T.Otto requesting that the lift be stopped at this (-2 level), not as present below it, we note that during maintenance the service technician is on the top of the cabin and therefore is working at the safe -2 level. There is no access possible from the lift shaft to the machine or into the lift cabin, the technician is a category B worker, allowed in controlled zones. FC will re-contact the company to determine if it is possible to make repairs without the cabin going below -2 level (this is a test procedure following repairs).
NC: The doses accumilated by the cabling team in BA2 are higher than expected, due to non-observence of the guidelines. RP are closely monitoring the situation.
JR: ad hoc procedure to check access rights for people taking key to ECR5, manual check by operator.
GMcm: Lighting in bat. 2002: many lamps are broken due to SC restrictions on use of "pont-roulants" by contractor for access to replace them. Situation reported identical in many other buildings. E.Paulat in contact with SPIE to establish possible solution.
Bat 150 (storage CTF) needed for PS magnets . Need TSO for this building. More space needed for storage, non-irradiated material should be separated out to reduce RP workload.
