Amani M. Ebrahim

Amani M. Ebrahim is currently a postdoctoral research scholar at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in California, where she uses the synchrotron facility to understand the fundamental processes involved in catalytic systems for plastic upcycling. She received her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Stony Brook University in New York. There, her thesis work focused on the fundamental study of materials for chemical defense, decontamination and energy conversion applications also using X-ray facilities. She spent most of her thesis work at Brookhaven National Laboratory’s, National Synchrotron Light source (NSLS-II) where she utilized different scattering and spectroscopy beamlines to study engineered porous nanomaterials under in situ/operando conditions. Apart from her work, she is also involved in mentoring and teaching opportunities and enjoys discussions and collaborations with the scientific community with the goal of bringing together science and the community.
