Dr. Gopolang Mohlabeng

Dr. Gopolang (Gopi) Mohlabeng is a postdoctoral fellow in the McDonald Institute for Astroparticle Physics at Queen's University in Canada. His expertise lies in astroparticle theory, particularly in searches for dark matter and new physics beyond the standard model. He uses experiments on Earth as well as astrophysical structure to understand the underlying nature of the dark sector. Gopi completed his undergraduate studies at the Universities of Pretoria and Cape Town in South Africa and went to the University of Kansas for his Ph.D, which he completed in 2017. After that he was a postdoc at Brookhaven National Laboratory until 2020. In the fall he will be moving to the University of California, Irvine as a Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow.
