How to make DIANE release

Currently we support slc3_gcc323, slc4_ia32_gcc34, slc4_amd64_gcc34 architectures

Build on slc3 (lxslc3 machine)

TAG = DIANE-1-4-8
INSTDIR = /afs/cern.ch/project/asddat/lhcxx/kuba/DIANE/specific/slc3_gcc323

  1. tag DIANE cvs module with DIANE-1-4-8
  2. mkdir $INSTDIR/1.4.8
  3. cd $INSTDIR/1.4.8
  4. cvs -d :kserver:isscvs.cern.ch:/local/reps/diane export -r DIANE-1-4-8 DIANE
  5. edit DIANE/etc/environment.csh and replace HEAD by 1.4.8 and PLATFORM by slc3_gcc323
  6. tcsh
  7. source DIANE/etc/environment.csh
  8. (cd DIANE/dev; gmake clean ; gmake)
  9. prepdist . clean
  10. $DIANE_INSTALL_DIR/export/diane.installation.manager 1.4.8 tar
    \
  11. (optional) to save space and if the external dependencies are not change symlink the tarball with externals to the previous one
    • rm $DIANE_INSTALL_DIR/export/DIANE-1.4.8-external-slc3_gcc323.tar.gz
    • ls -l $DIANE_INSTALL_DIR/export/DIANE-1.4.8-external-slc3_gcc323.tar.gz This should be done for all different architectures (i.e slc3_gcc323, slc4_amd64_gcc34, slc4_ia32_gcc34).
  12. prepdist . compile
  13. acl protect .

Repeat the same steps for each architecture (note that idl generated files are python/architecture dependent so make sure you use different directory (i.e DIANE/specific/arch for each architecture)

prepdist and acl scripts are in: ~/AFS/LHCB/ganga/release/tools
