Howto setup a suitable Grid Proxy for running the ganga tests

This page tries to address the problem where the release manager is able to generate a proxy for a certain VO, but requires a temporary copy of a certificate from another VO in order to run those VO tests.

Developer Days Session

  • Make sure that you can submit a generic job with LCG backend.
  • Make sure you can submit an ATLAS job to the LCG and NG backends.
  • Make sure you can submit a LHCb jobs.

Groups

  • Generic Tests: Katarina, Johannes EBKE, Ulrik
  • ATLAS Tests: Mark, Dan, Andrew
  • LHCb Tests: Bjoern, Johannes ELMSHEUSER, Mike
  • Testing framework improvements: Will, Kuba, Hurng-Chun

Generic Tests on gangage account

For some hints see HowToGridCertificates

Make sure that you have $HOME/private/atlas.proxy (or lhcb.proxy) from Atlas or LHCb person (see below), Rename it to ganga.proxy.

Login to gangage account

Thsi should be .bash_profile

export X509_USER_PROXY=~/private/ganga.proxy

TO BE VERIFIED: Setup acrontab to run every 3 days

glite-voms-proxy-init -valid 500:00 -cert $X509_USER_PROXY -key $X509_USER_PROXY --voms atlas

Edit $HOME/.gangarc and put atlas or lhcb as your VO and VOMS.

LHCb Tests on lb account

Find an LHCb person to do:

lhcb-proxy-init -v 10000:00
scp `lhcb-proxy-info | grep path | awk '{print $3}'` gangalb@lxplus:private/lhcb.proxy

Then login to gangalb@lxplus and run:

# export X509_USER_PROXY=~/private/lhcb.proxy this should be defined in .bash_profile

GangaEnv latest

ATLAS + NG Tests

Atlas person:

voms-proxy-init --valid=500:00 --voms atlas
scp `voms-proxy-info | grep path | awk '{print $3}'` gangaat@lxplus:private/atlas.proxy

Release manager

Login to gangaat account

#export X509_USER_PROXY=~/private/atlas.proxy #(this should be in the .bash_profile)

Setup acrontab to run every 3 days

glite-voms-proxy-init -valid 500:00 -cert $X509_USER_PROXY -key $X509_USER_PROXY --voms atlas

source /afs/cern.ch/sw/ganga/install/etc/setup-atlas.sh

Configuration Generation

Once we have collated all these combinations, it should be possible to produce a script that generates an appropriate ganga config and sets up the environment correctly.
