AtlasOnNorduGrid

Introduction

Primo 2006 the NorduGrid middleware Advanced Resource Connector ARC is installed on about 60 sites inlcluding about 6000 cpus (www.nordugrid.org). About 15 clusters with about 1000 cpus have ATLAS runtime environments installed. See www.nordugrid.org/monitor/atlas.

Production and Access to Files

• The contribution to DC1, DC2 and Rome by ARC connected sites is documented here.
• The ongoing production on NorduGrid sites is at the moment done in Oslo. The files and datasets are registered in the DDM catalogs. With the DQ2 client do "dq2 listDatasetsInSite http://cpt.uio.no:8000/dq2/" to see the datasets or go to http://hyper.uio.no. The sets can be listed and retrieved with the dq2_ls and dq2_get tools. Distributed Analysis DA on NorduGrid

Everyone is welcome to do her analysis on ARC connected sites (well, the sites must have you authorized).

Identified challenges to be overcomed by ARC / ATLAS site using ARC :

• Authorization (Only few members of ATLAS VO are authorized. Swiss sites may be nice exceptions).
  
• Download from tapes. With gsiftp ARC doesn't know about tapes and may time out.
  
• ...
