Inner Detector Tracking Performance - Standard Plots


We would like to be able to produce very quickly (even automatically), standard plots to demonstrate the InDet Tracking Performance.
These plots would be based on the 2008 Detector Paper, and initially for Monte Carlo. Undoubtedly they will get extended to include real data.

The intention is that we can

  • Check the status of the Software using somewhat more sophisticated (closer to physics) studies than are currently in the RTT.
  • Can produce plots for Conferences, Papers etc at the drop of a hat, without having to recall the history of previous studies and can thus ensure reliable results.


  • Use Standard Cuts (Andi W's Selector)
  • Need: Code, Atlas.JobOptions, ROOT Macros
  • Extend to include most of the plots in Detector Paper
  • Allow others to access the code easily
  • If possible, produce automatically plots which can be linked from a Web page
  • Identity and use well-defined datasets, eg. single muonss, pion, electrons of well defined pT
