A preliminary server has been installed in the pit to host the MTM system.
The final hardware has arrived and will be installed soon after M6 (mid of march). Until that, the preliminary hardware permits all functionality of the final hardware.
Muon Temperature Monitoring system fully operational
I am proud to announce, that the MTM system is now commissioned and fully operational.
Integration to central DCS successfully completed
On January 31th, the MTM system has been successfully integrated within the DCS framework. All remaining issues have been solved.
Beta system test finished
The migration to the pit server has been finished successfully. A short limited beta test for users has been conducted. This test provided valuable input which has been integrated in the MTM system.
First test system in the pit installed - able to see other distributed projects
A first test system has been set up in the pit. The project is distributed and able to see other systems. All currently read chambers have been found and are now represented as separate independant data points within the MTM system.
A small scale test done with the help of S. Kovar. When the connection to another distributed project is severed, it is automatically reestablished as soon as the network disturbance is removed. DpConnects will automatically reconnect as well.
During the test period (4hours) no connection timeout could be found.
Value copy test
One of the base principles of the MTM project is, that it will not use any dpConnect to other systems. All values will be copied at regular intervalls to its own data point structure.
A test of this mechanism showed, that it takes about two seconds to complete the collection/transfer/copy of all the neccessary elements. Test was done on one machine with more than 480 data points.
