The address of the workshop wll be : rooms G-122, I-146 and H-312B in the Engineering School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The International Airport is in an Island ("Ilha do Governador") of the Guanabara Bay, while the conference is in another Island ("Ilha do Fundão"). The complete address is :

Or, in more details, at the subway system website. The hotels are usually around the region of Copacabana (served by the stations "Cardeal Arcoverde" or "Siqueira Campos").

Taxi from/to the airport

There are many cab companies that operate from the airport to hotels in Copacabana.
SEE IMPORTANT NOTE BELOW.
All they need to know is that it is Copacabana and the name of the hotel (well, it would not be bad to also note down the street and number of the hotel). However, there are some special (and usually more expensive) cabs with prices around R$ 105.00 (~=US$54). These would be the following companies :

However, there is a less expensive service called Aerocoop. This is less than R$59.00 (~=US$30) and you can get a discount (a card) in the way back (you will have to specifically ask for Aerocoop in your hotel reception when checking out to call them). For that, please, look up (right after passing the duane before you exit to the airport lobby) to a balcony with the symbol and name visible in the following web site :

(If you pass the balcony, you can still find some guys in the airport lobby with an yellow shirt with the same symbol and name). They will take you to the cab and will make sure you get to your destination.

IMPORTANT NOTE :
In the way out, you WILL be offered many different services (I was). DON'T TAKE ANY OF THEM, prefer to pay one of the more expensive services I mentioned above than just get any cab outside the airport as we have no guarantee of the quality of the service, that you will pay a good price or get a receipt. Ask for the receipt in the balcony, by the way.
