TopCollisionPlots

Introduction

In this page, the most recent approved plots from Top analyses for the newest available integrated luminosity, 0.20 fb-1, are collected. Old plots are kept for reference.

Top cross section plots with 0.20 fb-1

The most recent top pair cross section plots (for ATLAS Current Physicists only) in ATL-COM-PHYS-2011-067.

Single lepton channel
Distribution of the invariant mass of the 3-jet combination having the highest pT for the ≥ 4-jet untagged samples combined (electron/muon). IData are compared to the sum of expected contributions. The QCD fakes background is determined from the 2010 data 35 pb-1 and scaled to 200 pb-1. Events with mjjj > 700 GeV are included in the last bin.

Single lepton channel
Distribution of the invariant mass of the 3-jet combination having the highest pT for the ≥ 4-jet b-tagged samples combined (electron/muon). Data are compared to the sum of expected contributions. The QCD fakes background is determined from the 2010 data 35 pb-1 and scaled to 200 pb-1. Events with mjjj > 700 GeV are included in the last bin.

Top cross section plots with 35 pb-1

The most recent top pair cross section plots (for ATLAS Current Physicists only) in ATL-COM-PHYS-2010-1029.

Single lepton channel
(a) Jet multiplicity distribution (i.e. number of jets with pT > 25 GeV) for the b-tagged samples, electron/muon combined. (b) Distribution of the invariant mass of the 3-jet combination having the highest pT for the ≥4-jet b-tagged samples combined (electron/muon). In both plots the data are compared to the sum of expected contributions as determined for 2.9 pb-1 and scaled to 35 pb-1. The uncertainties on the background estimates are expected to be reduced with a full analysis of the 35 pb-1 data sample.

Dilepton channel
b-tagged jet multiplicity in the signal region for the combined dilepton channels (ee, μμ and eμ). Data are compared to the sum of expected contributions as determined for 2.9 pb-1 and scaled to 35 pb-1. The uncertainties on the background estimates are expected to be reduced with a full analysis of the 35 pb-1 data sample.
