Material Budget
The radiation length of one bi-layer module is about 1.5 % (1 %) at the outer (central) part of the module.
See
slides (June 2013) for more details.

Full characterisation of a BGV fibre module (4-layer) at the SPS test beam
A spare tracking module (4 fibre layers) of the BGV detector was tested in the experimental setup of the LHCb
SciFi tracker test beam at SPS. A telescope was placed upstream the module in order to reconstruct the track of particles. A detailed analysis of the hit resolution and hit detection efficiency of the module as well as the influence of the cluster thresholds is available in this document:
Test beam report
. With optimal thresholds, the hit resolution is measured to be σ hit = 38.2 ± 2.8 μm and σ hit =42.9 ± 3.9 μm for the two sides of the module, whereas the efficiency is ε hit = 98.3% and ε hit = 97.8%.
