BeamLine

The BL4S project has access to the T9 beamline in the ProtonSynchtron EastArea. The T9 beam is a secondary beam of hadrons and leptons. It has a maximum momenta of . The ProtonSynchrotron delivers protons on target over a spill length. This produces protons, pions, kaons and positrons in the positive beam, pions, kaons, electrons and anti-protons in the negative beam. The amounts of these species in the secondary beam are shown in [1].

Metrics

Particle fluxes are listed in the attached files: Note: "The rates in the T9flux graphs are estimates and some (in particular pbar) are quite arbitrary)". Rates are given per spill, i.e. distributed over and are listed with the widest collimator settings (). Rates should scale linearly with collimator settings.

Schedule

The PS and SPS schedules are online at: http://ps-schedule.web.cern.ch/ps-schedule/

BL4S2015 is currently allocated September 9th - 20th.

Permissions

Had training on Zone Patrol and Beam Control with LauGatignon on 2015-07-16.

Need to request access to:

  • "Zone patrol rights (bldg 157) - T9 (EH-T9)"
  • "Control Room T9 (0157-R-012)"
Remembering to attach the "Attestation East Area Patrol Rights" form, signed by Lau.
