NP04 E-Groups
Shifters login to control room applications during their shifts using their CERN computing account. Access to the control room applications are granted via CERN e-groups.

E-Group registration requires a CERN computing account. The web site is
https://egroups.cern.ch
.
Included at the bottom are the egroups for editing Twiki pages and for receiving emails from the logbook.

Detector Control System (DCS)

Experts only need to enroll in the np04-dcs-experts. Np04-dcs-experts are included in np04-dcs-operator e-group so every DCS expert is also an operator.

Logbook access and notifications
The NP04 logbook is located at pdsp-elog.cern.ch. The page is SSO protected and therefore, a CERN account is required for access.
- Any person included in any of the following e-groups (accesible via https://egroups.cern.ch
) should have access to the elog: np04-t0comp-users, pdsp-elog-messages, pdsp-elog. Members of these e-groups belong to the SSO authorized list for this application. In addition, there is no write restrictions applied to this application. This means, you should be able to enter new entries to the elog if you belong to any of these groups.
- In terms of email notifications, the rules are the following:
- Members of the e-group np04-t0comp-users won't received email notifications (unless they are also included in other e-groups receiving notifications).
- To receive notifications via email you should be subscribed to pdsp-elog-messages.
- RunControl messages are omitted.
- RunControl messages are inserted by RunControl in the elog for every run taken.
- These messages are not much help to the non-expert.
- To receive replies to RunControl messages subscribe to pdsp-elog-runcontrol via https://egroups.cern.ch
