How to Get Access to T2KND280 computing resources at CERN
Introduction
If you just joined
SuperFGD and its computing nodes under Neutrino Platform, then:
- You need to be CERN registered and have a CERN account.
- Be aware you must choose np-comp UNIX computing group
- Registered to the corresponding e-group (depending on which protoDUNE activity you're member):
- TPC-EOI-at-CERN
- by default you have read access to the corresponding EOS space
- write/full and rights have only restricted persons, defined in the e-group: eos-experiment-cenf-t2knd280-writers. To obtain such access, if you're eligible, send email to EOS T2KND280 admins support
How to access to t2knd280 experimental EOS space from lxplus computing cluster
T2KND280 experimental EOS space is located at /eos/experiment/neutplatform/t2knd280.
A user to have access needs to be a member of the np-comp UNIX group.
Ensure that the users who will access the space have the correct primary UNIX group.
Otherwise get them to change it in the accounts setting page
https://resources.web.cern.ch/resources/Manage/Linux/Settings.aspx?login=YOUR_UNIX_LOGIN
The automatic EOS endpoint setting use your group membership to sort you into an experiment.
If this does not work for you, you can just specify your endpoint via an environment variable:
export EOS_MGM_URL=root://eospublic.cern.ch
About CERNBox Personal space Installation:
How to access personal EOS space under T2KND280
The initial and mandatory step to using your CERNBox is to create it.
Use any Web browser to go to 'https://cernbox.cern.ch'
and login via the CERN Single Sign-On page with your username and password (NICE or lxplus).
This first connection creates your CERNBox storage space (1 TB, up to 1 million files), hosted in the CERN Data Centre.
To activate the corresponding service go to:
https://resources.web.cern.ch/resources/Manage/EOS/Default.aspx?login=YOUR_UNIX_LOGIN
Please take into account, personal EOS space (/eos/user/<firstletter_login_name>/<login_name>) has nothing to do with experimental
EOS space (/eos/experiment/neutplatform/t2knd280/...).
