Applying to the ILC Virtual Organization

If you have the certificate in the browser go to this website:

https://grid-voms.desy.de:8443/voms/ilc

And apply. The defaults are usually fine. Give your personal information and a valid email address. I chose Frank Gaede as the contact person (forgot what it was called on the website, please update). It's good practice to introduce yourself to the community in case no one in the administration knows you (students, new post docs, etc.). Send a mail to ilc-vo-support@desyNOSPAMPLEASE.de introducing yourself (project, detector, supervisor, etc.) to ease the validation process. You will receive an Email to validate the email address and then you have to wait until the selected person accepts your request to join the VO.

It's then good practice to have a look at http://grid.desy.de/ilc/ as it's the base info for new VO members, and then have a look at the ILCDIRAC manual for how to use it.
