Detector Visualization

FAQ

How to get geometry screenshots visible in presentations?

Most event displays use black as the default background color. While this is ok on a normal display, taking a screenshot and using it in a presentation is usually a bad idea. Due to the low contrast of most projectors using a bright background color is preferred. Adjusting the color of the detector elements might be necessary.
  • PandoraMonitoring: white is already the default background color.
  • Mokka: for this, usually a GEANT4 visualisation driver is used. The background color can be easily set in the GEANT4 macro like this:
    /vis/viewer/set/background white
  • CEDViewer: push the 'b' key untill you get the white color background.
  • Always works: take a screenshot with the black background and use your favorite image editing program to invert the colors.
