Top physics at CLIC

  • Abstract: An overview is presented of the opportunities for top physics and studies of QCD at the Compact Linear Collider. The CLIC low-energy stage at 380 GeV can provide very competitive constraints of new physics models that affect the top quark electro-weak couplings. A scan through the top quark pair production threshold yields a top quark mass measurement to 50 MeV. The specific challenges of the high-energy stage at 1.5 and 3 TeV are addressed, with emphasis on the performance of different jet reconstruction algorithms in the reconstruction of highly boosted top quarks. Finally, the expected potential is presented of a direct measurement of the top quark Yukawa coupling in associated production of top quarks and a Higgs boson.
