Mission Statement

The Site Support team's mission is to make sure all CMS sites are fully operational and provide failure-less services: CPU, Storage, SRM, xrootd, Frontier/Squid.

General Tasks

SR & Tickets

  • Monitor and maintain site readiness for all T1/T2 sites using: SAM and HammerCloud tests.
  • Regularly follow up on all open savannah/ggus tickets and provide promptly response.
  • Debug site problems and help sites become operational again by opening tickets for sites falling in the Waiting Room (closing them when they come out).

Waiting Room, plots and summaries

  • Move sites InOutWaitingRoom (make sure there are tickets open for those sites and communicate with team member who follows tickets)
  • Compare pledged and deployed resources.
  • Prepare plots and summaries for weekly meetings to keep other teams informed about the behavior of the CMS sites.

Commissioning, Development & News

  • Commissioning and decommissioning of sites to become part of CMS and activate them for production.
  • Regularly communicate with T1T2Liaisons and site representatives.
  • Enforce and evolve monitoring and security standards for all services and sites.
  • Develop procedures to actively move sites between production and waiting room in SSB.
