CMS 2010 Public Electron Performance Results

Invariant mass spectrum above 1 GeV/c2 for opposite sign electron pairs

Event selection is: pt of both electrons > 3 GeV/c, |eta|<2, mva>-0.3, sumPt for tracks in cone 0.3 < 3 GeV/c, opposite sign. Pair with highest pt electrons is chosen for each event. Integrated luminosity corresponds to approximately 35 pb-1. A mixture of single and double electron triggers has been used to produce the plot. No correction is performed for this effect. The lowest pt threshold double electron trigger requires an invariant mass computed with the ECAL cluster invariant mass, between 2 and 12 GeV/c2. The combined momentum using the electron track and the cluster energy is used to calculate the invariant mass.
