Contribution Of Cosmic Muons in HCAL Signal

Purpose of the study

We want to develop a method to study the contribution of cosmic muons in HCAL signal. Plan is to use the cosmic run data collected during Long Shut Down.

We would like to reconstruct the cosmic muons inside the HCAL detector and calculate its contribution in the signal. These numbers ultimatily will be used in

exotica analysis. The ultimate purpose of the study is to find out the effects of cosmic muons during the collision where it can mimic a real hadron signal.

Our goal is to look for the fraction of muon shower in the event and eventually estimate the this background in real data.
