Plots on Pixel Phase I Upgrade

Efficiency
HLT Pixel Tracking efficiency as a function of eta (left) and transverse momentum (right) for 1000 ttbar simulated events for the Phase-I detector with superimposed pileup collisions of 50, for three different algorithms. The Cellular Automaton and the Triplet Propagation algorithms are compared to the pixel tracking running at HLT during 2016. The ratio between the 2016 HLT Pixel Tracking and Triplet Propagation tracking efficiencies with respect to the Cellular Automaton tracking efficiency is also shown. Only simulated tracks with pT > 0.4 GeV are selected. No cut in transverse momentum of the reconstructed tracks was used to plot the fake rate as a function of eta. The inefficiency in the interval 1.0 < abs(eta) < 1.5 is due to the non hermetic four-hits coverage transitioning from the barrel to the forward region. The asymmetry of the distribution in eta is due to the realistic position of the beamspot, slightly displaced with respect to the origin. [Get pdf version]

Fake rate
Fraction of reconstructed tracks that are not matched to simulated charged tracks as a function of eta (left) and transverse momentum (right) for 1000 ttbar simulated events for the Phase-I detector with superimposed pileup collisions of 50, for three different algorithms. The asymmetry of the distribution in eta is due to the realistic position of the beamspot, slightly displaced with respect to the origin. The CA fake-rate is lower than Triplet Propagation by up to 40% and by two order of magnitudes with respect to 2016 Pixel Tracks. [Get pdf version]
