Inclusive search for Φ++ in leptonic final states at √s=7 TeV

Main results

A search for the doubly charged Higgs boson, a member of SU(2)L scalar triplet Φ participating in the seesaw mechanism of type II, in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb−1 collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The inclusive search is performed in events with three and four isolated charged leptons of all flavours originating from the decays of pair produced triplet components Φ++Φ−− and Φ++Φ−. With the present collected luminosity the CMS experiment is sensitive to the Φ mass range in which the possible decays Φ++ → W+W+ are forbidden kinematically. No signal excess is observed and lower limits at the 95% confidence level are set on the Φ++ mass of 156 GeV in the μμ channel, 154 GeV in eμ channel, of 144 GeV in ee channel and between 116 GeV and 131 GeV in the four defined benchmark points.
