Search for Supersymmetry in pp Collisions at 7 TeV in Events with Jets and Missing Transverse Energy

Abstract

A search strategy for a missing energy signature, predicted by supersymmetry with R-parity conservation, is presented using dijet and multijet event topologies. The search makes use of a kinematic variable, alphaT to discriminate against the dominant background from QCD events. The main emphasis of the approach is on developing a robust analysis technique suited to the early collision data at the LHC.
