Alca DQM upload script

The script intends to help a user doing the upload of DQM files to the DQM server. The script does some very basic checks on the filename, it checks the existence of a grid proxy and then uploads the script. It also registers the file, so you can see it here: overview of uploaded files The script is a fork of visDQMUpload and runs as a stand-alone executable (tested under slc5). Feel free to give feedback!

Getting Started

You can retrieve the file from cvs within a CMSSW environment with
cvs co Calibration/Tools/scripts/
or directly via

Info The script itself doesn't need a CMSSW environment to run.

Basic Usage

The script expects the server address and the file as options and arguments, i.e.
./ -d DQM_V0001_R000133521__MinimumBias__Commissioning10-Apr20ReReco-v1__RECO.root
would be an appropriate call of the script.

The web interface can group upload by tags. Tags can be defined as a comma separated list:
./ -t minbias,dqm,apr20 -d DQM_V0001_R000133521__MinimumBias__Commissioning10-Apr20ReReco-v1__RECO.root
You can use any combination of alpha numerical characters.

The script scans $X509_ environment variables and ~/.globus/ for grid certificates automatically. You can override this automatic search with
      --ssl-key-file <location of your private key>
      --ssl-cert-file <location of your public key>

Debug Options

  • You can by-pass the file name check with --no-filename-check, use this option only if you are very sure
  • You can suppress the actual submission with -s or --no-submission
  • You can suppress the registration at the monitoring site with -r or --no-registration
