Run-Based MC Production: instructions for AlCa contacts

Goal of the production

The goal is produce MC samples which reproduce the various detector conditions across the data-taking. To achieve this the MC will simulate each run with a statistics weighted to take into account the actual luminosity.

The different calibration conditions will therefore be handled in the same way as for real data using run-based IOV tags.

Which conditions?

For the first round of production (intended as a technical test on a few runs) only the bad-channels will be run-dependent while all the other conditions will be those from the standard STARTUP scenario used for production.

NOTE: the test should also the scenario that so far are certified as BAD because of the # of bad channels. As a consequence this test will also simulate some of the failure scenario that actually happened during this year data-taking.

Which release?

The release used for this test will be 44X.

How to?

Each DPG is required to produce a channel status tag which contains the problematic channels which showed up along the 2011 data-taking. Ideally the same bad-channel tags used for data can be used but this doesn't apply to some sub-detectors which have a more complicated way to exclude problematic channels in the real data-taking.

Please for each tag fill the table below giving details about the most relevant IOVs so that this can be used to chose the most meaningful runs to simulate.
