Validation Task

We will collect here the suite of validation plots used to validate future MC (and soon data) production.

Validation Suite Description

So far, the plots used for the validation are:

  • Trigger Efficiency for several HLT paths, as a function of the J/Psi Pt, Eta, Phi.

  • Dimuon distributions for several quantities: invariant mass (for opposite charge and same charge combinations), pseudo-rapidity, azimuthal angle, transverse momentum, vertex probability, transverse flight-length and pseudo-proper lifetime.

  • Invariant mass distributions for different muon categories (Global, Tracker, StandAlone, and calo), for all combinations and after selecting the best candidate/event (in case of multiple combinations) based either on the closest mass to the nominal J/Psi mass or based on the highest vertex probability. The invariant mass for the the di-muon combinations is also presented splitting the di-muon in non-overlapping categories (global, tracker but not global, only stand-alone) and using the globalTrack, innerTrack or outerTrack p4 for the invariant mass calculation.

  • Purity of the di-muon selection, obtained as the ratio between the number of truth-matched di-muon combinations and the total number of selected di-muon events.

  • Single mu distributions: impact parameter, number of hits and chi2/NDF (for tracker and global fits).

  • B+ and B0 distributions: we use B+ ->J/Psi K+ and B0 ->J/Psi K*0 and we show the invariant mass, the transverse momentum, the vertex probability, the transverse flight-length and the pseudo-proper lifetime.

  • Purity of the B+ and B0 samples, obtained as the ratio between the number of truth-matched B candidates and the total number of selected events. We present this study after applying all the cuts for the B selection (as described in PAS BPH-09-001)
