How to use PyReleaseValidation in CMSSW

Complete: 3

Valid release versions

The first version of the Framework that supports PyReleaseValidation is the 1_3_0. The tool was tested both with SLC3 and SLC4.

How to use PyReleaseValidation

  1. Create a CMSSW project project area if you don't already have one:
    scramv1 project CMSSW CMSSW_1_3_0
    cd CMSSW_1_3_0/src

  2. Check out PyReleaseValidation:
    export CVS_RSH=ssh
    export CVSROOT=$USER@cmscvs.cern.ch:/cvs_server/repositories/CMSSW
    # in csh: project CMSSW
    cvs co -r V00-02-00 Configuration/PyReleaseValidation

  3. Make it available in your environment:
    eval `scramv1 runtime -sh`
    # in csh: eval `scramv1 run -csh`

And you are done!
