Validation Plots

You can find the PAT validation plots here. Comments on known issues are discussed in the following.

Comments

pat::Photons

The following plots have issues:

  • InvMassEndcap (unresolved problem)

ALERT! Note: At the moments no isolation is done. The only plots shown are for non-isolated photons. The plot InvMassEndcap is empty, while the reason is still unclear. It is puzzling that it is so, despite InvMass and InvMassBarrel are being filled. Further investigation needed.


pat::Electrons

The following plots have issues:

  • ele_matchingObjectEta (no matching is done)
  • ele_matchingObjectPhi (no matching is done)
  • ele_matchingObjectPt (no matching is done)
  • ele_matchingObjectZ (no matching is done)
  • ele_eta_show (no event left to fill this plot)

ALERT! Note: The reco plots are given for gsf electrons. No Matching is done. Hence plots with matching are empty. Also the plot ele_eta_show is empty as the following if condition in srs/PATValidation_Electron.cc kills everything.

  if (eleClass == 30 || eleClass == 31 || eleClass == 32  || eleClass == 33 || eleClass == 34 ) 

The plot ele_eta_golden shows the same quantity as ele_eta_show but without this if condition.


pat::Muon

The following plots have issues:

  • TkMuon_eta (need feedback from POG)
  • StaMuon_eta (need feedback from POG)
  • TkMuon_theta (need feedback from POG)
  • StaMuon_theta (need feedback from POG)
  • TkMuon_phi (need feedback from POG)
  • StaMuon_phi (need feedback from POG)
  • TkMuon_chi2OverDf (need feedback from POG)
  • StaMuon_chi2OverDf (need feedback from POG)
  • TkMuon_p (need feedback from POG)
  • StaMuon_p (need feedback from POG)
  • TkMuon_pt (need feedback from POG)
  • StaMuon_pt (need feedback from POG)
  • TkMuon_q (need feedback from POG)
  • StaMuon_q (need feedback from POG)

ALERT! Note: As you see in the plots some plots have red legend. The reason goes as follows: If both RECO and PAT plots are empty, it means one needs to check why they are not filled. For example, for the plots with RED legend below, in src/PATValidation_Muon.cc the StaMuon_eta and TkMuon_eta do not get filled in. If I remove the "if" conditions like below they do get filled, so Muon POG can help us understand if this should happen or not or guide us:

The following plots have issues:

ALERT! Note: We need feedback of the POG which are the plots of interest.


pat::Jets

The following plots have issues:

  • Mass (due to mismatch in the first bin)
  • Mass_30 (due to mismatch in the first bin)
  • Mass_3000 (due to mismatch in the first bin)

ALERT! Note: When running the validation tool you receive the following error:
