Introduction

This section describes the procedure to test Physics Anslysis Tools integration for a release build

Test process

Create a release area

Log on lxbuild063.cern.ch or lxbuild064.cern.ch, create, if does not exist, a directory under /build:

cd /build
mkdir `whoami`
cd `whoami`

Create a release area based on the base relase. Say you want to use 2.0.9:

cmsrel CMSSW_2_0_9
cd CMSSW_2_0_9/src
cmsenv

Check out the packages you need, and all depending packages (using checkdeps). An example is given below:

cat > tags.txt
V08-14-00      DataFormats/Candidate
V06-02-04      PhysicsTools/CandAlgos
V08-05-06      PhysicsTools/CandUtils 
_<control-D>_
addpkg -f tags.txt
checkdeps -a

Compile all tags

build in parallel on multiple nodes:

scramv1 b -j 8

Run the integration tests

Assuming that the unit tests of the packages have already been checked (i.e.: the package coordinator checked his package before sending the tag), the integration with other analysis tools parts has to be checked.

addpkg PhysicsTools/Configuration
cd PhysicsTools/Configuration/test
./testAll.csh
