Top Quark Analysis Framework (TQAF)

To facilitate the access to objects and tools used in the analysis of top quarks, the Top PAG provides a common Top Quark Analysis Framework (TQAF). It is based on PAT objects. Main features include tools for kinematic fitting as well as for MVA-based event selection and jet-parton assignment. Furthermore, tools dedicated to top-specific generator-level information are provided.

The TQAF resides in two locations within CMSSW:

  • The AnalysisDataFormats/TopObjects package hosts the main TQAF classes and defines persistable analysis objects.
  • The TopQuarkAnalysis subsystem contains utility classes and configuration files distributed over several packages, which are listed in the following table.
