CMSSW Software

The software used for offline DQM of the Trigger at CMS is residing in the CMSSW package [[http://cmssw.cvs.cern.ch/cgi-bin/cmssw.cgi/CMSSW/DQMOffline/Trigger/][DQMOffline/Trigger]. The sequences defined in this package are envoked in DQMOffline/Configuration and executed at T0 as part of RECO+DQM step. It is therefore of a critical importance that this code runs smoothely. Under no circumstances it should through cmsExeption !

The DQM modules in this package can be divided in tow groups: generic and POG/PAG specific.

Generic FourVector HLT DQM

Testing code for release integration

  • Make a testing area, get the code and compile the package DQM

  scramv1 p -n testRel CMSSW CMSSW_X_Y_Z
  cd testRel/src
  cmsenv

  cvs co -r V00-00-MyTag DQMOffline/Trigger
  scramv1 b DQMOffline/Trigger

  • Add custom configuration files

   addpkg DQMOffline/Configuration
   cp /afs/cern.ch/user/r/rovere/public/DQMOfflineTests/*.py   DQMOffline/Configuration/python
   scramv1 b DQMOffline/Configuration
<verbatim>

   * Marco Rovere (DQM code integration manager) keeps up_to date commands for testing the code before it is included to IB releases.
   Execute only the firest "cmsDriver" commands listed in files driver1a(b).txt, driver2a(b).txt, and driver3a(b).txt files in Marco's directory /afs/cern.ch/user/r/rovere/public/DQMOfflineTests/

<verbatim>
   ls /afs/cern.ch/user/r/rovere/public/DQMOfflineTests/*.txt
</verbatim>

   * Ensure that each of these jobs finishes gracefully

   * Open a the output root files in TBrowser and make sure that relevant histograms are not empty

---++ HLTMON Stream
   * !HLT paths and !EventContent of HLTMON Stream is provided for every run. This stream contains RAW, !HLT, and RECO objects. The EventContent of the !HLTMON can be found [[https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/HLTMonStream][here]].
