  • 19.11.2010 (Javier Santaolalla) DTs: bug in DT geometry (for pre3 and pre4). Expected to be solved for pre5

3.10.0.pre4 details

  • 11/17/2010, K. Kovitanggoon (Jets): The discrepancy is from HF simulation (same as HCAL).
  • 16.11.2010, Salavat Abdullin (HCAL) : HF simulation in 3_10_0_pre4 is not OK, after it moved from Shower library to GFLASH mode (and a lack of corresponding geometry changes).
  • 11/17/2010, A.Giammanco (Tracker): digi multiplicity for TIB 1- is low, see also ADC counts for TIB_layer1_intmodule1_zm and TIB_layer1_intmodule2_zm; no impact downstream, apart from small effect on rechit charge in TIB; explained by new dead channel map, which affected especially TIB L1 z minus internal modules.

3.10.0.pre5 details

  • 02/12/2010 N. Marinelli: Photons are marked as validated and indeed that's the case. HOWEVER there is an issue to be understood concerning the conversion tracks. The pulls of the tracks pt for both ecal seeded tracks and standard tracks are unnaturally narrower than in 3_10_0_pre2 and 394. Nothing has changed in the ecal seeded track reconstruction nor ( as far as I know) in the standard general tracking.

3.10.0.pre7 details

  • 03/12/2010 N. Marinelli: Photons are marked as OK, HOWEVER there is an issue with the isolation in ECAL. The RecHits sum in cone of R=0.4 (0.3) is 1/2 what was used to be in the Barrel. IN the endcap some minor effect can also be seen.
  • 07/12/2010 C. Charlot: same observation for electrons.
  • 05/12/2010 T.T something that needs to be fixed is something not validated
  • 12/12/2010 Salavat Abdullin (HCAL) : HF is not OK due to unaccomplished changes in HF simulation (no yet implemented light attenuation and bug found in energy spots distribution), expected to be better in pre9.
    ECAL contribution to CMS.CaloTowers drops substantially (accidentally rised ZS thresholds ?)

3.10.0.pre2 PU details

  • 03.11.2010 (Tim Cox) CSCs: The ZmumuJets samples in pre1 & pre2 both show a couple of 'hot' regions in strip and wire digis from one or two CSCs (which then leads to hot rechits and segments). Not the same hot chambers in both prereleases. Does not happen in 3_9_0 or 3_9_1. I have no idea what causes this. Some 'shower' in a CSC?
  • 24.11.2010 (Tim Cox) CSCs: Same pileup strangeness in 3_10_0_pre4.
  • 25.01.2011 (Tim Cox) CSCs: Just to sign-off on this... we believe it is an effect of repeated use of the the same min bi event. The ZMuMuJets sample has 25K events; the min bi sample is 9K events. We need to add 2 mibi events per BX, over the -3 BX to +5BX range an event is simulated (i.e. 9BX). Thus we need 25K x 2 x 9 = 450K mibi events. Thus on average each mibi events is used 50 times. (Analysis by Rick Wilkinson.)
