Charged pion-track efficiency with the D* method using Run2 Legacy data

Abstract

In this note the tracking efficiency measurement results for charged pions are shown for Run2 legacy data (2016-2018) on ZeroBias datasets.

The charged pion relative efficiency is measured with an indirect method described in the note.

The fitted shapes in blue well describe data point for both signal (solid) and background (dashed).

The ratio of tracking relative efficiencies for charged pions, as a function of the minimum D* candidates pT threshold, is shown in three different pseudorapidity regions: barrel (blue squares), transition (green triangles) and endcap (red circles) for 2016 data.

The 2016 data taking is splitted in two periods: old APV settings and new APV settings.

Old APV settings: pre-amplifier of the APV25 readout chip is saturated (20 fb-1 of 2016 data).

New APV settings: APV setting changed for fast recovery (16 fb-1 of 2016 data)
