Registering your new certificate with CMS VOMS

The new URL for the VOMS service is at:

https://voms2.cern.ch:8443/voms/cms/admin/home.action

In order to access grid resources, you must register your new certificate with CMS VOMS. Follow the steps below.

  • 1 Go to https://voms2.cern.ch:8443/voms/cms/admin/home.action. When your browser asks you to present your certificate, select the certificate that is already registered in the CMS VOMS (e.g., your certificate from the CERN CA or the DOEGrids CA). Below is the screen you should be seeing:

  • 2 Find the box "Certificates" on the page and click on the "Request new Certificate" button:

  • 3 You should get a new page like this:
VOMS2-NewCertRequest.png
  • 4 The preferred way to use that page is by uploading a "PEM file", that is the usercert.pem file in your ~/.globus directory which you derived from the certificate you want to use. Alternatively enter your new DN in the "Subject" box and then select the CA that issued your new DN from the list of CAs. Make sure you do not leave it indicated the default value which points to the Armenian CA.
  • 5 Click submit. The VOMS-Admins will get an eMail requesting them to approve your request to add your new certificate to the VOMS. You will receive a new email when this is done. If you do not hear from the VOMS admins within 48h, please open a GGUS ticket.
