CMS Workbook To Do List
Obsolete, please see:
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Main/WorkBookEditorsAssignments2018
This page is a living document which is used by workbook editors to note areas of immediate concern which need contributions from volunteers, and serves as a reminder of work-in-progress.
List of action items for the CMS Offline WorkBook
- WEBRELEASE variables:
- most of the tutorials use the variable WBRELEASENEW for the CMSSW release (currently WBRELEASENEW = WBRELEASE = 7_4_15)
- they should be changed to WBRELEASE so that the WBRELEASENEW variable can be defined to something more recent in WebPreferences
- to overcome this, WorkBookEnvIncludeNew now includes two sections where the first uses WBRELEASENEW and the second a hardwired 1_2_0 for the instructions how to set up the environment, the second is currently used in WorkBookEventDisplay and in WorkBook120JetAnalysis
- Generation - documentation on a few of the popular event generators, see https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/CMS/GeneratorTaskList
- Whole workbook - need to periodically go through the printable workbook and fix overly long lines that don't print well, and also make more links show up in the printable workbook, and ensure that there are no automatic table-of-contents tags:
%TOC%
.
- The WorkBook Glossary/Index should be constantly updated with new terms and improved definitions
- Need to sort out the Optimizing Performance pages in the workbook - there are presently too many subchapters, and a twiki twisty formatting has been implemented. Need to get the page responsibles to accept these changes, and then delete the subchapters.
Orphans
There are a few orphan pages - pages that aren't included in
WorkBookLeftBar, and that aren't part of the main workbook
- WorkBookReconstruction - might form the basis of the introduction to the reconstruction chapter. Has some ok introductory material in it, but is very incomplete.
