N.B.: The procedure to set the ID of a Wiener power supply via rotary switches is very scarcely described in most of Wiener's manuals. The one provided gives the most detailed information. Still, there is a degree of uncertainty (even after request of information to Wiener representative at CERN) and a conservative approach should be adopted, both for security and to ensure the correct values to be set without unnecessary delay.
The following precautions were taken in the past with successful results.
The power supply must be switched on for the values inserted to be committed.
The full procedure described in the manual should be undertaken, setting all values from A to F.
When switching from the parking position F to position A, go via the remaining letters, not the numbers (to ensure not to change the set values for voltages).
Always rotate the switch clockwise, even if a whole turn is necessary.
After each value set, wait until the LEDs stop blinking before continuing to the next value.
Be sure to have the jumpers in the correct position and the sense wires connected!
Empirical knowledge: the ID seems to be stored in the bin, not in the power supply (for our great surprise).
