TCS window uses Tcl/Tk package called UDF to plot counters history

a manual to plotting facility

  • each trigger can be plotted by bouth attempted and accepted values, attempted is drawn with dash line, accepted is drawn with solid line (the same color)
  • summary trigger is drawn by black dash line (attempted) and cyan filled area (accepted)
  • chars A and T are used to show/hide attempts and accepted triggers respectively, pressing the chars changes visibility: shown line -- black color char, hidden line -- grey color char
  • counters Y-axis (left) can be switched between linear and logarithmic mode (label LINEAR/LOG), the axis is scaled dynamically,
  • dead time Y-axis (right, in red color as dead time line itself) is linear and fixed between 0 and 100 (possible percentage of dead time), only upper limit of dead time is calculated in most trigger solutions (to get precise value it is required to switch on one trigger only or to provide not overlapping triggers)

"The Universal Data Format (UDF) is first and foremost a generic file format designed and optimized for use with Space Physics Data Sets. The format is backed by a compact set of stable interface routines which provide easy access to the data. The subsequent development of comprehensive analysis and display applications based on the UDF has provided a powerful working environment in which to analyze the data. More and more the term UDF has come to embody not only the data format but likewise the environment which surrounds it." more Run control GUI is written in Tcl/Tk so a set of plotting libraries usable in the GUI is very limited and UDF one of the best choices. UDF documentation differs slightly from implementation so it is required to look into sources of the library sometimes.
