Project Plan: Database Deployment and Schema Consolidation

Project mandate:

Investigate Castor database schemas (nameserver, stager, SRM, and VDQM) and propose directions for integration.

Current activities are mainly in these directions:

  1. DbConsolidationNameServer - stress test of the Castor nameserver.
  2. DbConsolidationDbChanges - tracking of proposed changes to be applied to all database schemas as requested by the different Castor subprojects.
  3. DbConsolidationDbConstraints - review of database constraints in the Stager schema.
  4. DbConsolidationCodingConventions - PL/SQL coding conventions.
  5. DbConsistencyChecks - framework for regular, automated test for detecting meta data consistency between different Castor components.
