Based on work done by DiQing in 2008 and published at CREAMTest, a request has been made to provide a similar environment to perform similar tests with current cream releases.

Architecture

  • Physical Cream CE (creaben-ce -- lxbrf2712) - SLC5_64
  • Hypervisor1
    • Torque Server (creaben-torque)
    • LB (creaben-lb)
    • UI (creaben-ui)
    • 2 WNs (to provide a minimal testbed) - 2 cores each - 4 job slots (creaben-wn01 -> creaben-wn02)
    • [optional] managment / monitoring node if separate from normal testbed
  • Hypervisor2
    • 32 WNs with 2 cores each. (64 Job slots) (creaben-wn03 -> creaben-wn34)
  • Hypervisor3 [OPTIONAL]
    • 32 WNs with 2 cores each. (64 Job slots) (creaben-wn35 -> creaben-wn66)

Giving a total of 4 / 68 / 132 job slots depending on number of WN-hypervisors in operation.

Unless otherwise stated, the machines will be running SL5x / x86_64 with the current linux patches and updates. The machines will be based on a minimal install - no X11 or development tools by default.

Open Questions
