glite-SCAS

Functional description

SCAS is a Web Service that allows client programs to query for an authorization decision based upon user credentials to access a particular resource. More information are present here: What_is_the_SCAS

Daemons running

  • /opt/glite/sbin/scas (2 processes)

Init scripts and options (start|stop|restart|...)

  • /opt/glite/sbin/scas

Configuration files location with example or template

  • /opt/glite/etc/scas.conf

Logfile locations (and management) and other useful audit information

  • /var/log/glite/scas.log

  • Syslog available: no (expected to be included in October 2009)

Open ports

  • 8443

Possible unit test of the service

  • glexec /usr/bin/id (with glexec configured to contact SCAS)

Where is service state held (and can it be rebuilt)

  • SCAS uses LCAS and LCMAPS, hence /etc/grid-security/grid-mapfile and gridmapdir
