Description

After reconfiguration on the MON box, the file /opt/glite/etc/glite-apel-publisher/publisher-config-yaim.xml will contain a typo - inspectTable should be inspectTables.

Known Workaround

Please edit the file appropriately. A fix (to the template file in the glite-apel-publisher rpm) will be made available. GIN Update

glite-UI

Missing python path for root installation

Tracked via Bug 23004 Opened 17-01-2007

Description

The PYTHONPATH is not exported for root installation.

Known Workaround

For root installation the line:

    export PYTHONPATH=$PYTHONPATH:/opt/glite/externals/lib/python2.2/site-packages
should be added to the /etc/glite/profile.d/glite_setenv.sh file.

Tracked via Bug 27685 Opened 03.07.2007 Affected versions all

Description

Missing directory on installation.

Known Workaround

When installing a UI on a SL3 machine, it's necessary to manually create directory

     /tmp/glite/glite-ui using "mkdir -p /tmp/glite/glite-ui"
and the directory has to be writable by any user:
     chmod a+wt /tmp/glite/glite-ui

Tracked via Bug 33081 Opened 29.01.2008

Description

The lcg-schema rpm was removed from the list, while YAIM still configures the bdii to use it. As a result the bdii cannot start.

Known Workaround

Install the latest version of lcg-schema from the gLite 3.0 repository by hand.

Incompatible new GlueServiceType

Tracked via Bug ????? Opened 29.01.2008

Description

When the missing lcg-schema rpm is added manually (see above), the WMS gets published, but its GlueServiceType has changed from "org.glite.wms" to "org.glite.wms.WMProxy". The new format is in fact correct, but incompatible with the version of the "lcg-infosites" client currently in use. A new version has been submitted:

https://savannah.cern.ch/patch/?1663

Known Workaround

None.

Undefined GLITE_LOCATION environment

Tracked via Bug 29031 Opened 16.08.2006

Description

The GLITE_LOCATION environment is not defined for some of the services.

Known Workaround

Modify /opt/glite/etc/init.d/* to set some default value to

   /opt/glite for GLITE_LOCATION.
Currently it is set to
    /home/glbuild/GLITE_3_0_0/stage/.

glite-WMSLB

Please also see known issues for glite-WMS and for glite-LB.

Tracked via Bug 23981 Opened 20.06.2007 Affected versions 2.4.19-0 and higher

Description

First restart after upgrade:

Could not stop the LB Server service [FAILED] An unrecoverable error occurred while stopping the gLite Logging and Bookkeeping [FAILED] The gLite LB Server service is already running. Restarting... Stopping glite-lb-interlogd ...glite-lb-notif-interlogd: no process killed done /var/glite/glite-lb-bkserverd.pid does not exist - glite-lb-bkserverd not running?

Error at stop, but starting the services seems fine.

Known Workaround

Not known.

glite-WN

Customized scratch area not recognized on WN

Tracked via Bug 31885 Opened 03.12.2007

Description

Customized scratch area not recognized on WN when EDG_WL_SCRATCH is set.

Known Workaround

In order to set your customized 'scratch' disk space for your jobs, you need to follow these instructions:

WMS respects EDG_WL_SCRATCH in a special way:

* first of all set a valid GLITE_LOCAL_CUSTOMIZATION_DIR in your env point to a folder ( you can put it for example into your /opt/glite/etc/profile.d/grid-env.(c)sh file) * inside the folder, you create a cp_1.sh script (the name is fixed) where you 'cd $EDG_WL_SCRATCH'

Known Issues for tarball

lcg-CE

LCMAPS wrongly maps pool accounts...

Tracked via Bug 18906 Opened 09.08.2006 Affected versions 3.0.14-0 and higher

Description

YAIM version 3.0.1-22 (Update 27) allows the use of sgm/prd pool or static accounts to be configured per VO and per account type.

If some VO should use pool accounts for sgm, prd or both at your site, please beware of the following limitation for the LCG-CE:

the sgm/prd prefix must NOT be an extension of the generic prefix for the VO

Otherwise the sgm/prd accounts can also be taken by ordinary users.

Known Workaround

For example, if the generic prefix is "alice", the sgm prefix must NOT be "alicesgm". Instead it could be "alisgm" or "sgmalice" or ...

The examples provided with YAIM are misleading. This will be fixed.

lcg-CE_torque
