The installation of an SLCx in group GD.

To know before begining :

In 99% of case you just need a account on our vnode service http://cern.ch/vnodeserver Contact RicardoMendes or LouisPoncet if you have access problem.

GD have an advance firewall and authentication manager. The root account is accessible to a list of known user per type of nodes and or a list of user per hostname.

GD is running 3 monitoring services :

  • Pakiti that check the status of the machines for security update and kernel version
  • Lemon (for hardware and usage monitoring)

You need to ask for access per type of nodes or per host. You need to have follow the instruction about your accounts and registration the NewComersToSA3.

If you need a machines (hardware) :

Contact the list gd-firewall@cernNOSPAMPLEASE.ch and specify what do you need :

  • Hostname (lxvNNN.cern.ch)
  • Os, Architecture
  • Type of nodes (UI CE,SAM ...)
  • Users list of require root access (User1, User2 ...)
