Here we report about the single steps of the IPv6 DEMO.
The demo is devided in 2 main parts:
1. Configuring Dual Stack on all nodes doesn't harm gLite: everything work as expected.
2. New IPv6 compliant components in action:
BDII, globus-url-copy, LFC,
DPM.
============================================================================================
1) Dual Stack does not harm gLite: IPv4-only components running on Dual Stack nodes
DNS configuration: dual stack for all nodes. ( all nodes have double entry in DNS: A and AAAA records.)
Proven gLite functionality:
1) workload: glite-wms-job-submit, glite-wms-job-status, glite-wms-job-list-match, voms-proxy-init.
============================================================================================
2) IPv6 functionality provided by BDII, LFC, DPM, globus-url-copy
DNS configuration: Dual Stack.
Proven gLite functionality:
2) Information System :
BDII
Site-BDII in Paris and SA-2 top
BDII deploying IPv6 compliant version of
BDII. Site-BDII in Rome old IPv-4 only. We check that all resources are visible
from the top
BDII : both the ones advertised in IPv6 (Paris) and the one advertised in IPv4 (Rome).
3) data management:
DPM, LFC, LCG-utils: dpm-ping, lfc-ping, lcg-cr, lcg-rep, file-transfer UREC-GARR using globus-url-copy (gridFTP)
We transfer file with globus-url-copy using IPv6.
We perform basic LFC and
DPM operations using IPv6.
